I agree. I also like the idea of giving up individual bed ownership. Hell, we can all share our clothes too.

As does individual 767 ownership.

As long as Sergey Brin is willing to say that individual money ownership needs to go as well, then that's fine by me.

Ah, the delightful approaching stench of Sunstein's "Nudge" approach to modifying human behavior, and all appertaining horseshit. Fuck off, Sergey.

Yeah, well, he also said full time employment needs to go, so I guess thank God nobody elected him to anything. Just keep running your search engine and stay the hell out of everybody's lives.

"To Each according to their need, From each according to their ability"

That has NEVER worked, any time it has been tried, because idiot moron corrupt out of touch moron control freak tyrant jackholes like this guy decide that they must be the deciders of what people's needs and abilities are, and what is available to give and to take.

"A Government big enough to give you everything you want, is big enough to take everything you have."

How many millions of people have to die in human history for people to realize that totalitarianism, Communism, and it's sweet-talking sister Socialism, are evil, failure-guaranteed, oppressive, and result in oligarchs, an underclass, and death, not to mention stagnation of human culture and the eradication of human liberty.

Why do people ascribe to other people, the ability, or intentional will to beneficially look out for their best interests, rather than themselves? Other people CAN'T do it properly, and invariably devolve into taking advantage of people who become their subjects.

And it is always rich people with more money, influence, and personal luxury than they know what to do with, that seem to want to dictate what other people, who have to work for a living, do... Rather than donating their surplus resources to effective charities, electing to contribute their own extra money to government operations, and otherwise leaving other people to their own devices.

The natural extension of Brin's comments, is when people don't go for that... is to make Government nanny state, backed by the government's police state, ENFORCE IT, and tax other working people's money to make it happen.

I am pretty much fed up with people telling other people what to do, as if they know anything, let alone knowing 'better.'

When you live the life of someone who works for a living, and has to choose which bills get paid this month, while taxes, and inflation continue to rise FAR faster than wages... or step into someone's even less fortunate shoes than that...

See if giving up your only car makes sense, your only means of transportation in an area of the country where home, job, food, and resources are spread MILES apart, and lower population densities mean that mass transit cannot make fiscal sense....

This is why I no longer ascribe ANYONE, no matter what their position, with an automatic benefit of the doubt that they can think well enough to tell anyone else what they should or shouldn't do. Don't assume that business people, government administrators or bureaucrats, or anyone else you don't personally know through experience, that they know what the hell is going on... they will prove to you that they don't.

Don't call for businesses, or business decision makers to do things, or set policy for you that you should do for yourself. Certainly don't call for Government to do so, they are even worse, and at least you can choose not to do business with a specific business organization. The government has you at barrel's end, if you don't play by their rules.
